Rattlesnake Vaccination

If your dog is at risk of encountering rattlesnakes, we have a vaccination that can lessen the toxic effects of rattlesnake venom. Rattlesnake bites can be extremely dangerous and potentially life threatening.  Treatment is also very expensive. Vaccinated dogs that are bitten by a rattlesnake will still need veterinary care, but with potentially better results and less expense.  Initially, dogs weighing over 25 pounds will need two inoculations, 3-4 weeks apart.  Dogs weighing under 25 pounds will initially need 3  inoculations.  Thereafter,  all dogs will need a booster every 6 months.

In addition to the vaccination, enrolling your dog in a rattlesnake aversion class may help your dog avoid a rattlesnake bite.  We have had very encouraging feedback from clients who have taking their dogs to the class. The class is conducted a limited number of times in our area. For further information contact
