Laboratory
The following diagnostic tests are routinely performed daily in our own in-house lab.
Cytologic evaluation of growths/masses
Blood chemistry panels
CBC hematology
Electrolytes
Urine analysis
Gastrointestinal parasite test (worms, protozoa,etc)
Serology including; Feline leukemia virus, Feline immunodeficiency virus, parvovirus, and heartworm
Ringworm culture
For outside lab services, we use Antech, the nations largest veterinary reference laboratory. Samples are picked up twice daily and when completed the results are faxed to our office.
Radiology
Radiographs (x-rays) are taken and reviewed immediately by our staff veterinarians. Every two weeks, a Board Certified Veterinary Radiologist comes to our practice to review radiographs on request. We also have a dental x-ray machine that is utilized during dental procedures.
Ultrasound
Ultrasonography is a non-invasive modality used to look at many different structures of the body. It is a fabulous diagnostic tool that we have utilized since 1999. It is primarily used for abdominal and cardiac
evaluations.

Radiology

Laparoscopy/ otoscopy/ rhinoscopy
Rigid scopes attached to a xenon light source and displayed on a monitor allow the doctor to obtain a visual look into body cavities and perform surgical or diagnostic procedures with this minimally invasive method.
ECG (EKG)
The electrocardiogram (ecg) is used to access heart function.

Blood Pressure
A noninvasive indirect blood pressure instrument is used to measure blood pressure and pulse irregularities.
Tonopen glaucoma screening
The tonopen is a hand held ocular (eye) pressure-measuring device used for glaucoma screening.
